New Year’s Eve is upon us once again, and I have chosen to use a happy filter to look back to 2013. I find it is rather tempting to remember the negative experiences that we have gone through. But, dwelling on the negative aspects is not going to bring any happiness.
What good things have happened and keep happening up to just now, before tonight’s big dinner and cheers? Here’s some of mine:
- I am still enjoying London.
- I have been able to apply my professional expertise.
- I have learnt lots in life and in my profession.
- I have met lots of lovely people and enhanced my relationship with some amazing others.
- I have travelled a bit.
Above all, my loved ones are well.
Here’s wishing you the best New Year’s Eve and all the best for 2014. Thank you so much for all your comments and for reading this blog. Hope to see you during 2014!

Happy new year! You’re so right, when we’ve had a tough year it is indeed hard to see past that to the great things below. I was happy to read this: “I have been able to apply my professional expertise” – I think we too often lose sight of our careers and it is so important to further that when we spend a third of our life at work.

Thank you! Been a hard year. But hey, no one said it was going to be easy, and lived great things. 🙂
